Here’s what’s happening with Sweet Fathom, my novel during this third week of NaNoWriMo.

That’s because I’m writing a different novel.
Remember, my goal? It’s to have fun. (I recommend that be your goal, too, during NaNoWriMo.) As I was primed to embark on NaNoWriMo 2021, I realized that to write a sequel to a published novel (my first) felt more like work. I spent half of 2020 and the first part of 2021 writing a business book steeped in scholarship. On the topic of race and racism. For a major publisher. So, I’ve been marketplace-driven for a long time and need to kick back and write for writing’s sake.
So, I’m playing with an idea that’s intrigued me for a while.

And that’s fun.

Keep writing your novel!
Only one week to go!
