Democratic Presidential candidate Marianne Williamson has received more than a half-million votes in primary contests. She is calling for Democrats to change to an open convention this August:
“It is imperative that the new process not be manipulated by party and media elites. The search for a new candidate must be not directed by behind-the-scenes players, but rather must be a genuinely democratic process.”
Dear Friends,
If you watched any of the Republican convention last night then you know they’re on fire.
Now we have to be on fire too.
So here is the plan…
The Democratic Party is giving us mixed messages: party leaders are saying they’re privately trying to convince the President to release his delegates, while the DNC is actually trying to lock in President Biden’s nomination as soon as possible. In fact, they’re having a Rules and Bylaws meeting this Friday (July 19, 2024) in order to create a virtual roll call to nominate the President as early as next week.
We must not let this happen.
That’s why I created the video above, for those of you who might be delegates to the convention – or know anyone who is that you could send it to. The only chance to stop the virtual roll call is for enough delegates to step in – to say they are no longer automatically committed to the President’s nomination, according to the dictates of their conscience and their conviction that the process must now be opened up.
Please support this effort in any way you can. Our team is at work spreading the video and the information – remember, the Open The Convention HOTLINE is 301-244-9057, or people can write for further information to convention@marianne2024.com.
For some inspiration, remember these words of Winston Churchill:
Never, ever ever ever ever give up. As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will to win, victory will not be denied us. You create your own universe as you go along.
If you’re not a convention delegate but you still want to help get the convention opened up, please call your Democratic Congressperson or Senators plus your state Democratic party to express your opinion.
Your support is so appreciated. LET’S DO THIS.
All my best,
Marianne Williamson for President: On the Issues
